Cooked Food Distribution

On 26 July, BRSP distributed cooked food in district Jhal Magsi and Jaffarabad on emergency basis among the most affected 200 families near round 2000 population for three days in district Jaffarabad and one day for Jhal Magsi.

Rapid Need Assessment

BRSP field teams carried Rapid Need Assessment (RNA) in 14flood affected districts. The RNA covered around 381 villages in 111 UCs. BRSP commenced Rapid Need assessment exercise in district Naseerabad, Jaffarabad and Jhal Magsi through its head office and district teams, the need assessment exercise completed on 12th August, 2022

Establishment of Information and Coordination Cells (I&CCs)

BRSP (Balochistan Rural Support Program) in the context of flood relief operations in certain districts. The initiative involves setting up 10 “Information and coordination cells” in these districts, which presumably serve as centers for managing and disseminating information related to flood relief efforts. Additionally, BRSP has also deployed one “focal person” in each district to provide support to the district administration in managing data and information related to the relief operations.

BRSP’s Coordination Meetings

The officials of BRSP, which stands for Balochistan Rural Support Program, are currently taking an active role in various coordination meetings. These meetings are being held at the PDMA, which refers to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority, DDMAs or District Disaster Management Authorities, and the DHOs or District Health Officers of the Malaria focused districts. In addition, the officials are also engaging with different line departments, both at the provincial and district levels. The aim of these coordination meetings is to ensure effective communication and collaboration between different organisations and agencies involved in addressing malaria and other related issues in the region. Through their participation in these meetings, BRSP officials are able to contribute to the development of effective strategies and plans that can help to mitigate the impact of malaria and other health concerns in the area.

 

Media Coverage of the Flood Emergency Response

Media team deployed for coverage in district Quetta to capture the damages done by the flood in Quetta district which included taking drone footage of the encroachments on 12 major sewerage drains of Quetta.

Food Distribution in Quetta

On 19 August BRSP with the support of different philanthropists initiated food distribution in district Quetta UCs Kechi Baig I & II. to 100 HH flood affected families.
