Summary
BRSP, in close coordination with PHED, LG&RDD, the Education Department, and other line departments, implemented several WASH projects. These projects focused on the restoration of existing water facilities through increased access by target beneficiaries to improved drinking water and sanitation services with better hygiene practices. Furthermore, extensive behavioral change communication (BCC) campaigns resulted in visible changes in hygiene practices among targeted communities and students. WASH in schools, including the reactivation and restructuring of Parent Teacher School Management Committees (PTSMCs), helped in the supervision of WASH interventions in consultation with the staff of the Education Department and parents through the formation of WASH clubs. BRSP also promoted Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) in girls’ high schools by building MHM toilets, holding hygiene sessions, and providing MHM kits.
