Summary
Social mobilisation is the fulcrum of BRSP’s programmatic interventions that enables organised communities to become viable change agents towards community-driven development. The process enables them to pursue their own development agenda through a continuous process of nurturing and empowerment. The communities strive to resolve the communal issues through self-help approach and thus contribute to improve their living conditions. Through successfully tested three tier mobilisation approach of Rural Support Programmes, BRSP fostered community institutions made remarkable efforts to improve their lives and livelihood through carrying out development planning at household, village and union council levels. The Community Institutions s generate capital through the discipline of regular savings, and improve their managerial and technical skills that is followed by asset creation and income generation. To initiate the process, the most deserving and poor households are identified through poverty scorecard (PSC) that enabled BRSP to target beneficiaries for Community Investment Fund (CIF), Income Generating Grants (IGGs), Technical Vocational and Education Trainings (TVET).
