BRSP’s Capacity Building unit is actively engaged in harnessing the human capital in far flung and remote areas of rural Balochistan. The unit maintains an in-house, active roster of over 100 highly competent trainers who have expertise in interactive and adult learning methods of training, especially for individuals having no or minimal reading/writing skills. Our training modules have evolved over several decades and have proved their effectiveness, as seconded by tens of external, impartial evaluations and studies by United Nations agencies, the European Union, international donor agencies and specially by the Government of Balochistan. Various techniques adopted by the unit for this task include week-long training workshops, specialized courses, seminars, conferences, inter district exposure visits and inter province exposure visits among others. Other than training, institutional capacity is also built through systems strengthening specially on areas still innovative to this region such as PSEA, cottage industries and creative approaches towards literacy. The unit also acts as incubator for new projects/programs. Long termed beneficiaries of the unit include rural leadership, public sector officials and most importantly, the marginalized segments of society.
