Talks by CEO, BRSP in 36th Midcareer Management Course (MCMC) – NIMS

Dr. Tahir Rasheed, CEO of BRSP delivered a lecture on “Biodiversity of Pakistan, Challenges, and Way Forward” to civil servants of the 36th Midcareer Management Course (MCMC) at the National Institute of Management Sciences, Quetta. Dr. Tahir Rasheed spoke at length about Pakistan’s diverse topography providing habitats for a wide range of flora and fauna. He shed light on the challenges such as deforestation, unregulated urbanization, illegal hunting, and poaching resulting in the decline of many species such as the snow leopard, and lack of awareness among the general public and the importance of biodiversity conservation.

He also remarked that there is a lack of awareness among the general public about the importance of biodiversity conservation and strengthening of policies and laws related to biodiversity conservation. In his closing remarks, he reiterated the importance of the implementation of effective policies and measures to conserve its rich biodiversity for future generations.
