Consultation session on damage and need assessment of Ziarat Juniper Biosphere Reserve (ZJBR) 

A consultation session on the damage and need assessment of Ziarat Juniper Biosphere Reserve (ZJBR) was facilitated by BRSP. Mr. Hamid Sarfaraz, Managing Partner Dev Consultant, Dr. Masood Arshad-Senior Director WWF-Pakistan and Mr. Sharifuddin Baloch CCF-Wildlife and Dr. Tahir Rasheed-CEO and Mr. Siraj ul Haque Ghouri- COO BRSP participated in the session. Ziarat Juniper Biosphere Reserve (ZJBR) was designated by UNESCO in 2013. Its Management Plan (2013) is implemented by the Balochistan Forest & Wildlife Department with the active involvement of the local communities. The biosphere reserve is not only home to the largest area of juniper forest in Pakistan but also provides critical habitat for endangered wildlife species (Suleman Markhor, Urial, black bears and wolves) and supports a rich diversity of plant species.
