Summary
The PEACE Initiative Project, implemented by BRSP with EU support under NACTA and UNODC, aimed to strengthen community resilience and prevent violent extremism in Khuzdar and Pishin. The project promoted interfaith harmony, gender inclusion, and peaceful coexistence through leadership trainings and over 100 community sessions.
Key achievements included integrating minorities, women, and persons with disabilities into local Support Organisations (LSOs), enhancing inclusive leadership. Exposure visits to religious and cultural institutions fostered mutual understanding. Cultural festivals, literary seminars, and sports galas served as effective platforms to spread messages of peace and unity. Youth engagement was strengthened through a digital media competition and literacy workshops, enabling responsible social media use to promote peace. Collectively, these efforts fostered resilience, shifted mindsets, and empowered communities to lead local peacebuilding initiatives.
